ABOUT US
Founded in 1912, and originally named Stockton First Church of the Nazarene, AXIS represents an opportunity for anyone to fully know Christ and make Him fully known to the greater Stockton community

"When Jesus intersects our lives, He changes the very trajectory of everything we do and who we are."
Renee Bennett Lead Pastor
Life verse: Galatians 2:20

What We Believe
We are proud to be a part of the Church of the Nazarene
...which is the largest denomination in the classical Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. What distinguishes the Church of the Nazarene from most other Christian denominations is that of entire sanctification. Nazarenes believe that God calls Christians to a life of holy living, one that is cleansed from original sin and filled with a love for God and humankind.
Our
Mission
To know Jesus fully and make Jesus fully known, through loving and serving our neighbors
Jesus defined eternal life, not as a place to go when we die, but to "know the One True God and His Son Jesus Christ, whom He sent" (John 17:3). We believe that Jesus invites us ALL to live an abundant life found only in and through a life with Him. We also believe that once we find the life that Jesus died to give us, God then calls us to take that message of hope to the world around us. That is the foundation of our Mission here at AXIS .... that everything we do revolves around Knowing Jesus fully and Making Jesus fully Known, through loving and serving our neighbors.

Our Community
We aim to make Jesus known in the Stockton Community
Located in the Victory Park neighborhood of Stockton, we serve a diverse population with members who come from all walks of life. We are committed to serving our community with a missional heart so that others will experience Christ through the calling of His church.
